The SBGA283 features Grand Seiko’s unique spring drive, a technology that no other company in the world has. The spring drive movement combines the beauty and complexity of an ordinary mechanical movement but with none of the inaccuracy–the spring drive will be at least as accurate as a good quartz watch. It also has the only truly smooth seconds hand in the industry. Like all Grand Seiko spring drives, a power reserve subdial is used that lets you know how much energy is left in the mainspring before the watch dies.

The Grand Seiko SBGA283 is the newest version of the original SBGA083.
