The Essence Leggera is an ultra-light and uncompromisingly forward-thinking high-precision timepiece. With
its subtle structure and a smooth, slightly silky feel, the 50g
(1.76oz) case made of Carbon Fiber Composite was entirely developed
in-house. Bezel and crown are made of scratch-proof Zirconium Oxide ceramic. The
white lume contrasts the black indices and hands on the matt grey dial,
perfectly harmonizing with the deep black Ceramic bezel. On
top of that, unique features, such as our patented Micro-Adjustment
System, will make the Essence Leggera wear exceptionally comfortable on
your wrist.

Robust. The deep black color is achieved through material choice rather than surface coating like DLC or PVD, which ensures that your watch will always stay black. With a hardness that surpasses that of any traditional metal used in watchmaking, Zirconium Oxide ceramic is a scratch-proof material that will never show any signs of wear or aging. Being the most exposed components of a watch case, both bezel and crown are made of this high-tech ceramic.

Luxurious. Hand-finished with undiluted passion, the Essence is crafted with an execution only found in high-end timepieces. The movement’s accuracy has been tested and certified by COSC, the official Swiss Testing Institute for Swiss Chronometer.

Bold. Above a complex construction lies an elaborate case with a feather-light Carbon Composite case with titanium container, which was entirely developed in-house.

Case Suspension. Since the beginning of Formex in 1999, the patented Case Suspension System has been an integral part of every single Formex timepiece. It absorbs shocks to protect the mechanical movement from heavy impacts and it adds to the comfort on the wrist by adapting to the wearer’s movements. Modeled with high-performance bikes and racing cars in mind, the Formex patented case suspension system works by integrating four springs between the upper and lower watch case. The result is the ultimate shock absorption system designed to protect the mechanical movement and deliver unparalleled comfort to the wearer. This patented case suspension system brings form and function together for Formex Swiss watches. It’s functional, it’s state of the art engineering and it is unquestionably unique.

Carbon Clasp. The strap comes with a new version of the Essence clasp. Easier to operate, the new version is fully made out of proprietary carbon fiber composite. The micro-adjustment is now even easier to use and can be operated while the watch is on your wrist. Lightweight, smooth to the touch, ultra-durable and highly functional, this clasp is a real piece of engineering, making your Essence even more comfortable to wear.

Strap. Grey Nylon strap with curved spring bars, Quick Release function and carbon fiber composite folding clasp with patented Micro-Adjustment System.

Dial. Matt grey dial with white lume and black indices and hands. BGW9 Super-LumiNova is used on the hands and indexes.
